Mountain biking on Gornergrat

The Gornergrat trail paradise

The summer season 2024 begins on June 8, 2024. We look forward to welcoming you!

The Gornergrat bike trails should be on every rider’s bucket-list: they will belong to the most beautiful trails ever undertaken on a mountain bike. From the easy routes to the really challenging ones, the Gornergrat is a fantastic starting point for various tours at various levels of difficulty.

Mandatory reservations and limited transport times for mountain bikes

Mountain bikes require compulsory reservations. Per connection, there are up to 12 spaces for mountain bikes on board. A reservation costs CHF 10.00 per bike (not included in the ticket price, e.g. in a route ticket, Bike Pass or Peak Pass).

Transport times:

  • Mornings from 8 a.m. to 9.10 a.m.

  • Afternoons from 3.35 p.m.

Please inform yourself before the trip, which trails are still open in Zermatt.

Mountain bikes are only transported on the Zermatt - Gornergrat route (uphill only). Boarding at intermediate stations is not possible.

From the technically challenging to the flow-trail

The absolute classic descent is the Gornergrat Classic from the Gornergrat to Zermatt. First you encounter stony passages before you get to the flowing trails from Rotenboden through alpine meadows. Below the Riffelalp the route via Furi goes back to Zermatt. Do you feel really at home on rocky trails? Then the Hohtälli bike tour will definitely suit you. By the way, this is the trail that the best riders race down once a year at the Enduro World Series.
