Dining with the Stars on the Gornergrat

Arrival You make your own way to the Gornergrat. Plan your arrival so that you can take the train from Zermatt at 6.30 pm at the latest. You can also use your ticket to travel up the Gornergrat earlier.

Meeting point The guide will be waiting for you at the Restaurant Saycheese! at 7.15 pm and will welcome you with an aperitif.

Start of the programme The event begins at 7.30 pm.

Return You leave the Gornergrat at 10.35 pm and arrive back in Zermatt at around 11.15 pm. A shuttle to Täsch is available for guests travelling onwards at 11.30 pm.

Discounts There are no discounts with GA travelcards, Half-Fare Cards, Swiss Passes or other discount cards.

Children The experience is recommended for children aged 9 and over. Children between the ages of 9 and 16 who have a Junior Travelcard pay CHF 80.00.

Services The offer includes the Zermatt-Gornergrat-Zermatt train ticket, an aperitif drink, dinner (salad buffet, fondue chinoise, classic or vegetarian, and a sorbet), guided stargazing and admission to the observatory.

Drinks Drinks with dinner are not included in the price.

The indoor presentation will take place in German and will be translated into other languages using AI simultaneous translation. Please bring your own smartphone and headphones.

Outdoor stargazing and visits to the observatory take place in smaller groups. The guide will try to adapt to the linguistic diversity of the group (German, English or French).

Weather The event will also take place if it is cloudy. In this case, the astronomers will guide you through the observatory and show fascinating live or archive images from the telescopes on the Gornergrat.

Clothing At 3,100 metres above sea level it can be cold and windy. We recommend warm clothing that is suitable for winter and non-slip footwear, as it could be icy. As the experience takes place both indoors and outdoors, clothing should be suitable for both.

• You can cancel your booking up to seven days before the travel date subject to a processing fee of CHF 10.00.

• For cancellations made less than seven days before departure, we charge 100% of the booking amount. We recommend purchasing travel insurance

Cancellation by the Gornergrat Railway

• Cancellations by the Gornergrat Railway due to force majeure (e.g. strong winds, avalanche risk) cannot be ruled out.

• In such cases, we will refund the full amount already paid. Further claims – especially for compensation or damages – are excluded in accordance with our terms and conditions.
