Multi-media experience world
«Zooom the Matterhorn»
Since the first of June 2021 the new and unique multi-media experience world around the Matterhorn is opened on the Gornergrat. The former valley station for the Hohtälli lift, next to the Kulmhotel, has been completely rebuilt over the last year and turned into an absolute highlight. The multi-media experience world, which shows the Matterhorn and its surrounding alpine world in all dimensions, will fascinate both young and old and is even a great place to visit on the Gornergrat when the weather is not so good. Guests who visit the exhibition during its inaugural year, 2021, get the admission to Zooom included in their railway ticket.
In the adventure world, visitors get closer to the Matterhorn in three zoom stages.
The multimedia presentation is rounded off with significant and tangible information on historically important events, high alpine nature with its unique flora, fauna and its glaciers and on the history of the Gornergrat Bahn. The exhibition is a fascinating addition for any visit to the Gornergrat and offers brand-new perspectives on the impressive mountain world and shows it in close-up.
The new experience world ‘Zooom the Matterhorn’ is on top of the Gornergrat. The rusty-brown periscopes are already visible from the railway station. Using the lift, the Zooom is only a 5-minute walk from the Gornergrat station. To complete the exhibition tour you should allow around 30 to 40 minutes.
