Hike with glacier views from Gornergrat to Riffelberg

The hike starts at the Gornergrat station. It is worth pausing for a moment on the viewing platform to admire the numerous peaks. Through the free telescopes, you can learn the names and heights of the individual peaks. The path then leads along the Hohtälligrat. The steep descent down towards the Gorner Glacier requires good concentration. Did you know that the glacier you see from here is actually several glaciers? Since summer 2019, the two largest, the Gorner Glacier and the Grenz Glacier, are no longer directly connected. You now reach the access route to the Monte Rosa hut. However, you do not continue towards the hut but with a view towards the Matterhorn. A special new perspective on the Matterhorn awaits you! The path goes pleasantly up and down to the Riffelsee. Afterwards, there are numerous paths that lead you down to the Riffelberg station.
