Winter Wonder Trail (No. 146)

The snowshoe trail starts at the Riffelalp Resort and alternates through the forest and across clearings to Grünsee (at one point the tracks of the Gornergrat Railway are crossed). Animal tracks can be seen along the way and those who are attentive can observe one or another animal. Then it continues to the snow-covered glacier forefield near Gant and onto the other side of the valley. Those who have done the 5-Lake Trail in summer will recognize many places. At the end of the trail, you can go back to Zermatt or ascend to the Sunnegga mountain station and take the underground funicular from there.
