Winter Wonder Trail from Sunnegga to Riffelalp

The route starts at the Sunnegga mountain station. From here, you first follow the winter hiking trail until shortly before the hamlet of Findeln. Here, the snowshoe tour signage then starts. Where sparkling mountain lakes line up in summer, you find absolute silence in the cold season. Chamois can regularly be spotted here searching for food. Can you discover the snow-covered lakes? Initially, you hike past the Moosjisee. On the other side of the valley, the Grünsee hides under a thick snow cover. At the Mountain Lodge "Ze Seewjinu," you have the opportunity to indulge in culinary delights. Through the larch forest, you reach Riffelalp. At Riffelalp, you deserve a refreshment: you can choose between top gastronomy at the Riffelalp Resort or the rustic Alphitta. From here, it is only a few minutes to the Riffelalp station of the Gornergrat Railway.
