Our trip starts early in the morning at the valley station of the Gornergrat Railway in Zermatt. In the dark, we deliberately switch off the train lights so that you can experience the awakening of the mountain landscape high above Zermatt in all its glory. A short walk brings you to the picturesque Lake Riffelsee, where you will be able to take breathtaking photos of the Matterhorn reflected in the calm water. Sunrise at Lake Riffelsee is a unique experience and a memory that will remain in your heart and mind for a long time to come.
The train then takes you to the summit of the Gornergrat. Take time to enjoy the awakening of the day from the viewing platform and discover the majestic 29 four-thousand-metre peaks and fascinating glaciers. As an additional culinary treat, there is the option of booking a breakfast buffet in the restaurant on the Gornergrat and starting the day in a delicious way.
